Case Nestor's ship, the Sunstar. Case and Ji-Lin were doing a survey mission of a nebula. Case was in his pilot's chair. Ji-Lin is just coming into the cockpit. CASE (presses buttons on the control) We are now on auto-pilot and probes are launched. JI-LIN (smiles) Finally we are alone. Case smiles and brings out two glasses and sparking wine. CASE (happy) A couple days to ourselves (opens the bottle and pours the sparking wine) with no one to bother us. He activates his exo-legs and comes out of the pilot's chair. He pushes more buttons on the control panel. Some soft music plays. JI-LIN (grins) Oh Case . . . The two of the set the glasses down and begin to slow dance. Ji-Lin sets her head on Case's shoulder and nuzzles him. JI-LIN (happy) You are always so good to me, Case. CASE (grins) You are a wonderful lady, Ji-lin. He strokes Ji-Lin's ears and head-fur. Ji-Lin closes her eyes and murrs. Suddenly an alarm goes off and a red light flashes on the control panel. CASE (gasps and runs to the pilots seat) This cannot be. JI-LIN (concerned) What is it, Case? Case sits in the pilot's seat and presses buttons on the control panel. He looks at the sensors. CASE (concerned) My ship is detecting two Doggian Alliance ships, bounty hunter class. This cannot be. JI-LIN (gasps) How could they get here? Case quickly presses buttons and switches. He recalls the probes. CASE (talking quick) Raising shields. I don't know. We have to get out of here. Bounty Hunter class ships are one most dangerous class of ships in my universe. There is a lot of power in their ships. Out of the nebula come two identical ships. Case begins to move the Sunstar and prepares to escape. CASE (turns to Ji-Lin, talks fast) Get the co-pilot chair and buckle up. This is going to be a rough ride. Ji-Lin zips to the co-pilot and buckles up. VOICE (on comm.) Lt. Case Nestor, you are under arrest for working for the rebels. Lower your shields and prepare to be boarded. CASE (growls, into comm.) Kiss my tail! VOICE #2 (stern) Last warning, rebel scum. You and your partner will be arrested. JI-LIN (gasps) How did they know I was on board? CASE (turns off the comm.) Doggian Alliance has technology to scan through shields and detect who is on board a ship. JI-LIN (stunned) Oh my . . . CASE (presses more buttons, talking fast) We got to get out of here. They are not going to let them get both of us. I'm setting location of the Galatea. We are going to slipstream. A slipstream portal appears in front of the Sunstar. The two bounty hunter ships speed towards the Sunstar and fires at it. The Sunstar shakes. Case moves the controls on his pilot's chair. The Sunstar enters the slipstream portal and closes quickly. Case goes in like a trance-like state as he guides the Sunstar through the slipstream tunnels. Ji-Lin knows not to bother him in his state because he needs his full concentration to move through the tunnels. Case presses more buttons and an exit to the tunnels appear. On the Galatea, the bridge sees the portal opening. CHRISTIAN (looks on the scanners) Sunstar is exiting the slipstream. IELLA (confused) I thought Case and Ji-Lin were on a survey mission. YUHON (points) It looks like they have been attacked. CASE (exhausted, on comm.) Case to Galatea . . . I need the shuttle bay doors opened. CHRISTIAN (presses buttons, talking into comm.) Opening them now. In the shuttle bay, after the Sunstar lands, Case (in his wheelchair) and Ji-Lin exit the ship. Case is exhausted. Willis and Con-Sun run over to the ship. WILLIS (stunned) What happened? CON-SUN (concerned) Are you okay? CASE (exhausted) We ran into a little trouble at the mission... (pants) People from my universe showed up...Must have found a way here... JI-LIN (worried, talks fast) Case didn't want me to get hurt, he got us out of there through the slipstream. It has completely worn Case out. Two weeks later in Case's universe, a young female shepherd/sheltie mix is laying in a hammock in the engine room of a ship reading a beauty magazine. KAYLEE (sighs to herself) I wish I could afford a dress like that. VOICE (on speaker) Kaylee, I need you to check the power levels. We are about to land. KAYLEE (climbs out of the hammock) Yes, Captain. She takes out her portable scanner and takes readings of the engines and their power levels. KAYLEE (talks into comm.) Power readings are normal. The ship slowly makes it's decent down to the landing platform within the large city. Once landed, large doors to the cargo bay open up. Crewmembers begin to unload the cargo to be later claimed by clients. Kaylee exits the ship and goes to into the city. In the shadows, she was being watched. FIGURE #1 (whispers) There she is. Lets get her. FIGURE #2 (holds him back, whispers) Wait, there are too many witnesses. Wait until she is alone. Kaylee goes into the marketplace and enters one of the shops in the alleys. An elder male Kelpie is running the shop. SHOPKEEPER (smiles) Morning, Miss Kaylee. What can I do for you today? KAYLEE (smiles and hands the shopkeeper a piece of paper) I need the parts on this list delivered to the Night Shadow. Are there any messages from the rebels for me this week? SHOPKEEPER (shakes head) Sorry, not today. I'll get my people to get parts you need to the docks. KAYLEE (nods) Okay. The two figures are standing outside the shop door as Kaylee leaves the shop. They grab her. KAYLEE (growls) Hey! Let me go! One of the two figures grabs her muzzle and puts a gag in it to keep her quiet. Kaylee struggles in the two figures grasp as the drag her into another alley. FIGURE #1 (grins) You are coming with us, little miss. KAYLEE (growls, muffled) I got nothing you want. FIGURE #2 (grins) You are going to help us get something we want. They push her to the ground. One of the figures holds her down as and other takes out some cable to tie her wrists and ankles. Kaylee growls and screams through the gag. FIGURE #2 (growls, hits her) Shut up, female. A third figures shows up on a four-wheeler with a large shipping-like lockbox on the back of a trailer. FIGURE #3 (grins) Load her up. The two figures force a struggling Kaylee into the large box. She looks up and growls at them as they close it. On the Galatea, a week later, Case was in his quarters getting ready for his shift in engineering. He sits in his wheelchair strapping his exo-legs on. He goes to his bacteria tank and takes a small sample out and injects it into his exo-legs. He opens the doors to the quarters, and goes into a hallway and heads to the mess hall to meet up with Ji-Lin. In the mess hall, Ji-Lin was in the mess hall having breakfast with her mother, Shu-ol. CASE (smiles) Good morning, Ji-Lin and Doctor Shu-ol. SHU-OL (smiles) Good morning, Case. JI-LIN (grins) Hello, Case. Case gets a plate of eggs, sausage, and hashbrowns and a cup of coffee. Then he wheels over to Ji-Lin and Shu-ol's table. JI-LIN (smiles) My father wants use to do some system checks after our morning meal. CASE (takes a sip of coffee) Alright. After our shift Ji-Lin, do you want to help me with repairing the Sunstar? JI-LIN (smiles) Sure. I like helping you with your ship. There is so many interesting things on your ship... SHU-OL (smiles) Don't forget you have a physical tommorow, Case. CASE (eats some eggs) I know. I'll be there after my shift. Case and Ji-Lin look out the window and sees a familar ship. CASE (worried) Oh no...They are back... SHU-OL (concerned) Who are they? JI-LIN (worried) The ones that attacked us in the nebula... Case goes up to the bridge followed by Ji-Lin and Shu-ol. He sees on the viewing screen a Bulldog, a Retriever, and a Husky. BULLDOG (stern, on screen) Lt. Case Nestor, I repeat from our last encounter, you are under arrest. WOLVE (stern) What is Lt. Case charged with? BULLDOG (stern, on screen) He fought with the rebel scum and he has created technology that the Doggian Alliance wants. CASE (growls) The Alliance wants to use it to harm others that don't agree with them. HUSKY (evil grin, on screen) This time things are different. CASE (growls) How different? RETRIEVER (evil grin, on screen) We have someone you know locked up on board our vessel. The husky opens up one of the large cargo cases. Inside was Kaylee, now looking a little worse for wear. Her clothes were torn, has a black eye, a swollen lip, several deep bruises, and looked dehydrated. Her wrists and ankles were tied up. CASE (gasps) Kaylee... SHU-OL (in shock) What have they done her? JI-LIN (looks at Case) Who is she? CASE (worried) She is my younger sister... Kaylee's eyes slowly open. KAYLEE (weak, crying, on screen) Case...they hurt me... Kaylee collapses on the bottom on the bottom of the cargo case. The husky closes the cargo case. CASE (worried) Kaylee... SHU-OL (worried) She doesn't look like she can last any longer. BULLDOG (evil grin, on screen) We will hand over Ensign Kaylee Nestor if Lt. Case Nestor surrenders to us. You have six hours to decide. The screen blanks out. Case lays back in his wheelchair with his head down looking clearly worried. RIKES (looks at Case) You got some explaining to do. In the conference room, Case is talking with the senior staff and some of the other crew. Among them are Rikes, Sarah, Wolve, Kusac, Ng Hu, Shu-ol, Riley, Willis and Ji-Lin. CASE (sighs) In my universe, engineers and inventors are sought after by the Doggian Alliance. They want the slipstream technology and exo-legs from me. I didn't invent the slipstream technology, my father's family and other families has been protecting it for years from groups like the Doggian Alliance. On the other hand, the exo-legs I created to help people walk again. On a normal person, it would enhance leg strength and speed. The Doggian Alliance wants them for their soldiers to gain an advantage in the battle with the worlds in outer systems in Doggian space. SARAH (concerned) What will happen if they capture you? CASE (sighs) If the capture me, I will be treated as a slave and forced to build and create for the Alliance. WOLVE (concerned) What should we know about the Doggian Alliance? CASE (sighs) They are very meddlesome. It is a reason many moved to other worlds to create colonies to get away from them. JI-LIN (turns to Case) You never told me that you had a sister. CASE (sighs) My mother was in early pregnancy with my sister at the time of the invasion of my home planet. I didn't meet my sister until I was eighteen years old and she was thirteen. She was already a brilliant mechanic and engineer. She worked with the rebels for a bit and helped me after I lost the ability to walk. She just joined the crew of another ship at the time I came to this universe. RIKES (stern) How could people from your universe get here so easily? WILLIS (suggesting) Maybe there could be wormhole between our universe and Case's universe. Case isn't the only alien cano-sapien I know. CASE (stunned) What?! WILLIS (nods) There is an alien golden retriever named Trey that works at the Space Rover Academy sometimes. RIKES (nods) Willis go to the bridge and contact him. WILLIS (nods) Yes, sir. CASE (concerned) What about my sister? She is could be dying. We don't have much time. RIKES (looks at Case) We will try to sort this situation out and get her out safety. Most of the senior crew leaves the room but Ng Hu, Shu-ol, and Ji-Lin stays to comfort Case. CASE (upset) The captain doesn't understand. NG HU (calm) He is doing the best he could, Case. CASE (upset) He doesn't know how to deal with people in my universe. Kaylee is dying on that ship and the bounty hunters won't release her until they have me. (begins to roll to the door) I might as well hand myself over to them, just to save my sister . . . Ji-Lin zips and stands in front of Case. JI-LIN (upset, talks fast) You can't do this Case, there has to be another way to save her. (brightens) Didn't you told me that your people have the technology to scan through shields. NG HU (looks Case in shock) You have that kind of technology? CASE (looks at Ji-Lin, brightens) I think I know what you are thinking, Ji-Lin. I have the plans in my ship, File J-66. Ji-Lin zips off towards Case's ship. NG HU (calm) What do you think you are doing? CASE (blunt) I normally don't give away technology from my universe but this an emergency. We use the scanner to locate where Kaylee is being held on the ship. Then use the teleportors to teleport Kaylee to safety. Ji-Lin returns to the conference room with a data pad. She hands to Ng Hu and he looks at it. NG HU (nods) Lets get started. On the bridge, Willis makes contact with the Space Rover Academy and is now speaking with Trey. Rikes and Sarah is returning to the bridge. TREY (smiles, on screen) Hey Willis, what can I do for you? WILLIS (stern) We ran into some trouble up here. You told me you were an alien. Is it called Doggian? TREY (stern, on screen) What kind of trouble? WILLIS (stern) We got bounty hunters from the Alliance that wants one of the crew members. TREY (shakes head, on screen) Then you are seriously screwed. They don't give into any negotiations. RIKES (stern) How would they get into this universe? TREY (on screen) There is a wormhole that opens up every six to eight months that lasts for four weeks. It is hidden in a nebula at the following location. Trey can be seen typing in on a keyboard. In the teleportor room, Ji-Lin began to operate the controls as Case manned the scanner controls. Ng Hu supervised and Shu-ol was ready with her medical bag. CASE (worried) Everything is ready. I sure hope this works. (shouts) Computer, detect DNA similar to myself on the enemy ship. COMPUTER (female voice) Sensors detect one life sign on the ship similar to Lt. Case Nestor. CASE (turns to Ji-Lin) Do it! On the bridge, Riley looked at his computer. RILEY (shouts to Rikes) Captain, the teleportors in teleport room two being activated. RIKES (taps comm. Badge) Rikes to teleport room two, report. Back in the teleportor room, a large cargo case appears in the teleportor. Case turns on his exo-legs and runs to over to it and opens it up. Kaylee is lying on the floor of the case shallowly breathing. Shu-ol comes over and examines her. NG HU (taps combadge) Those bounty hunters lost their bargaining chip. Case and Ji-Lin found a way to get Kaylee Nestor on board. Shu-ol is examining her now. SHU-OL (scans Kaylee) Case, bring your wheelchair over here and help me get her into it. We are taking her to sickbay. Case gets his wheelchair and helps Kaylee into it. On the bridge, the three bounty hunters reappear on the view screen. HUSKY (stern, on screen) Are you ready to hand over Lt. Case Nestor? RIKES (stern) We are not handing over a member of our crew. You will also find you no longer have a bargaining chip on board your vessel. BULLDOG (growls, sees the cargo case gone, on screen) What?! How did you get on board our vessel?! RETRIEVER (stunned, on screen) There are no signs of entry and the shields were up. RILEY (grins) We have other ways. Case enters the bridge with Ji-Lin. JI-LIN (growls, talks fast) How dare you harm that girl! She is lucky to be alive. How would you feel you were locked in a box with little food or water. And how dare you come to our universe and boss us around... BULLDOG (interrupts, on screen) Shut up! Your talking is just as annoying as farmers of Gale IV. RIKES (stern) Lt. Ji-Lin is right. This is not your universe and your laws don't work here. If you don't return to your universe, we can inform the Jurassian Alliance authorities and have you arrested. CASE (grins) They get angry if they discover someone messes with the Space Rover Fleets. They are huge creatures and they might eat you or stomp you flat. RETRIEVER (gulps, on screen) Eat or stomp? WILLIS (grins) I also believe the wormhole to your universe will be closing soon. I would hurry if I were you. BULLDOG (growls, on screen) You haven't heard the last of us. We will have Lt. Case Nestor next time we meet. The view screen goes black. The ship is seen leaving and going into warp. RILEY (turns to Case) How did you get your sister off the bounty hunter ship with the teleportors? Normally, teleportors can't scan life signs through shields. CASE (explains, smiles) It was Ji-Lin's idea. I told her about technology from my universe that can scan through shields a couple weeks earlier. With help from Ng Hu we combined it with the teleportor and beamed my sister out. RILEY (surprised) Brilliant! RIKES (turns to Ji-Lin and Case) Good work. (looks at Case) Case, to prevent this from happening again, I need more detailed information on your universe. I want it given to me by the end of the week. CASE (nods) Yes, sir. In the sickbay, Shu-ol is checking on Kaylee as Mei-Li was working nearby. Case and Ji-Lin enters the sickbay. Case sits besides Kaylee's bed and Ji-Lin stands nearby. She slowly opens her eyes. KAYLEE (little smile) Hey, big brother. CASE (smiles) Hey, little sister. KAYLEE (little smile) So this is where you have been... CASE (smiles) Pretty much. How are you feeling? KAYLEE (sits up, winces a bit) I felt worse... MEI-LI (turns to Kaylee) Careful...miss... CASE (smiles) Kaylee, this is Doctor Mei-Li and Doctor Shu-ol. (grins) And this is my girlfriend, Ji-Lin. KAYLEE (little smile) Nice to meet you. RIKES (voice over) Captain's log, supplemental. Lt. Case Nestor's sister Ensign Kaylee Nestor is recovering well since being rescued from those bounty hunters. Doctor Shu-ol reported that Kaylee has a few deep bruises, burns from the rope that binded her hands and is dehydrated. Kaylee said she will stay on Galatea instead of returning to her universe. When she is fully recovered, she will be assigned to engineering. Case and Ji-Lin are going to teach her Space Rover protocols. The scene is now the common room of the Galatea a few days later. Case is introducing his sister to the other crewmembers. WILLIS (turns to Case) What did that bounty hunter mean about Ji-Lin sounding like the farmers of Gale IV. CASE (chuckles) Gale IV is my home planet. A lot the farmers on the planet are very high energy and talk fast almost like Ji-Lin. (whispers) I bet Mei-Li will go crazy on my home planet. WILLIS (laughs) So that's why Ji-Lin's fast talking doesn't bother you. CASE (chuckles) Yup. It won't bother Kaylee as well. She is a bit high energy too and very cheerful. Kaylee and Ji-Lin are talking to each other. JI-LIN (stunned) You were the only engineer on the ship you were serving on? KAYLEE (cheerful) It was a small cargo ship, a bit bigger than Case's ship. I used to help Case on his ship in the engine room before moving to another ship. JI-LIN (smiles) You know slipstream piloting too? KAYLEE (shakes head) No, I am not trained in slipstream piloting; it is something you have to learn when you are very young. I can fly the Sunstar outside slipstream though. JI-LIN (blunt) How did you learn your skills? KAYLEE (sighs) I learned most of them when I was young in the slave camp from the others that were captured there. After my mother died when I was six, I had to learn the skills to survive. I learned further skills after I was rescued when I was ten. Case taught me a few things too when I was helping him out before he got those exo-legs. I do find it annoying when crewmembers don't see me as woman as well as a mechanic. JI-LIN (sighs) I had that problem in the academy too and people also thought the way I talked was annoying. (smiles) Case was different. He has been so nice to me and treats me very well. KAYLEE (smiles) My brother has always been a nice person and very protective. I'm surprised no female in my universe has asked him to be his mate. JI-LIN (surprised) You mean in your universe, the females ask the males to marry them. KAYLEE (chuckles) Yup. Ji-Lin grins and zips off and goes to Case. Kaylee giggles as Ji-Lin talks to Case and he grins taking a quick look at Kaylee. --------------------------------------------------------------------
